ABOUT THE PROCESS:
We typically work on interviews, realty, dialogue, b-roll, as broadcast, and closed captions transcripts. Project files (tapes) are typically 15-25 minutes in length; shows require 100-500 tapes and last for months and we usually have numerous shows running at the same time.
The process will entail us taking raw footage, digitizing, and uploading to your FTP accouint. You will then transcribe the footage intoWord document file and then email it back to us. The process of transcribing should take double the time of the file length; e.g. a 10min file should take you about 20mins to transcribe it etc. If the file is only 5 minutes in length, you still are paid for the full half hour.
The pay rate is between $15-45 per 30mins of transcribed material. An average audio minute ends up being $2 to $5, because this is Entertainment transcription there is a need for fast turnarounds, (24hrs or less) when this is the case we have RUSH charges added on top of the regular rate, which in turn makes the dollar per minute double or triple.
